TITLE: Senior Media Manager
REPORT TO/EVALUATED BY: Superintendent
BASIC FUNCTION: Responsible for overseeing public relations and media development within and among the school system and community.
Develop and implement policies and procedures for the relationship between the media and the school system.
Be a presence in the schools as the first to share good news and ideas.
Prepare summaries of media activity.
Drive the social media strategy and operations.
Plan the social media content alongside the Technology Resource Teachers and/or Social Media account managers in each school.
Manage content related to style guide, theme, and message on all media platforms including but not limited to: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, eNewsletter, print, and websites.
Coordinate content publishing schedule and process across all social media platforms and website.
Be a point of contact for staff on media questions.
Monitor Social Media performance metrics, extract insights, and recommend improvement areas based on community responses and data.
Serve as primary connecting point across all internal media functions connected to the school system.
Lead overall media strategy development and group brainstorming sessions with the intention of bringing great ideas to life.
Oversee the development of strong and effective media plans incorporating programmatic, display, mobile, social, and video.
Work with the Danville Schools Education Foundation and Alumni Association to build and manage a larger Social Media presence.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Superintendent
Experience with all areas of digital media including social, display, print, video, etc..
Advanced computer knowledge preferred
Strong writing, presentation, strategic and analytical thinking skills
Able to communicate with simplicity and influence broadly
Able to work independently and have excellent time management skills
Problem solver with the ability to develop creative solutions
Organized and detail-oriented with strong attention to follow-through
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Graphic Design, or other related fields. Graphic Design experience preferred
